Floor insulation can also be done without using the heating system using
the XPS boards together with cement and the final material. This will also
lower the energy consumption of the whole structure. In this method, the
concrete subfloor is covered with thick XPS insulation boards and then a thin
layer of cement is applied on top. In the end, the final materials such as wood
tiles are installed. This can be also used to renovate the old floors and
buildings to make them energy efficient.
