Synergy XPS sandwich panels which is made of a Synergy XPS insulation board layer covered by two galvanized steel sheet provides protection against climate conditions and external environment. These panels offer a variety of properties such as thermal insulation, fire resistance, weight and space saving, low maintenance and long life time and can be applied in cold storages, conex and other containers in industrial and non-industrial structures.

Synergy Extruded polystyrene (XPS) is a rigid, closed-cell foam insulation that is manufactured in a continuous extrusion process under high pressure from polystyrene polymer. The closed-cell structure of this insulation offers a unique set of characteristics such as long-term and high R-value to thickness ratio, moisture resistance, and high mechanical strength. The fact that these boards does not support mold or mildew growth, makes it an excellent thermal insulator that increases the energy efficiency of buildings and structures.

Synergy XPS foam boards are manufactured with different widths of 60, 90, and 120cm with desired length and thickness of 2 to 12cm. Depending on the application, densities might vary.

Fire

Synergy XPS foam boards contain a flame-retardant additive to prevent accidental ignition from small fire source, but they are considered combustible and they may burn rapidly when exposed to an intense fire. In Iranian fire classifications, according to national standard 8299, Synergy XPS foam is classified as E which is equal to B1 in Germany standards of fire classifications.

Usually in sandwich panels and door panels applications, the core material must possess a high dimensional stability across all three planes. This way no waves would be generated during lamination with the coating. SynFoam blue foam DPs are manufactured especially for this reason with precise tolerances in the width, length, and thickness which defers depending on the requirements.

The exterior wall like the interior also plays a significant role in heat transfer, thus proper insulation is needed. Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) as an exterior wall cladding system is one of the most effective ways of insulating the exterior walls. In this method, XPS insulation boards are screwed and installed using special rawlplugs and adhesives on the wall substrate which can be made of concrete slabs or clay blocks. Then the first base coat is applied with the fiberglass mesh as a reinforcing agent. Finally the final coat as desired such as decorative paint, bricks, stone tiles etc. is applied. EIFS system with its low weight will not only insulate the exterior walls but also lowers the weight of the whole structure.

Walls are very important parts in structures to insulate since they are in direct contact with outside. They can be insulated both exteriorly and interiorly to assure the least heat transfer. In this method, XPS insulation boards are screwed with special rawlplugs on the Light Steel Framing (LSF) on top of which a thin layer of gypsum plaster together with fiberglass reinforcing mesh (optional) are applied. Finally any sort of decorative paint or other coatings for interior walls can be applied.
